issues with my hobart

well ive owned this welder for about 6 months and was told that it was a great welder .since miller bought out hobart and the internals and wand is miller .

well my wands trigger will not work and i have to turn the line left and right to get the wire to stop and go

i'm in the middle of shaving some side moldings on my integra and have to be done all the bodywork by the 20th ......

i know the it will be covered but i can not find my sale slip to save my life .......

Can picture lining up perfectly to start the weld then twisting the torch to get it started - would end up taking some other bit of metal by surprise.

probably just one of the little wires coming off it's connection inside the torch. The torch should come apart (either screws from the side or big plastic nut at the back) - might be quicker than taking it back.

lol yeah ,it was a pain !

well i took it in and sent it away .they never gave me a new one .even though i was told that i would get a new one !

so i heard today what the probelm was .i had a high curcuit short int he welder and it fried my torch!!!!

and here is the BS part about it .they are trying to charge me for the repairs even though ,it wasent my fault !

they said because there a diffrent branch ,butt he same store i wouldent be covered ! ,doesn't make any sense ,soo after argueing with e sales rep for a bit ,he said he would call the headoffice and see if he could get it covered for me !

i'm not paying $200 for repairs when it wasent my fault and the welder is still under warrenty!!!!!

let you know what he says when he calls me tomorow !!!

That's crazy. Get some management phone numbers to call at the store if they want to charge you. The guarantee will be point of sale, but if the store is a pain try calling Hobart and explain what has happened.
