Irrespective of the cost, do you need to mount that vice in a vice?

It looks like a Peter Wright bench vice to me.

It is a farriers vice.

I've seen them bolted in farriers vans/forges but we have always called then blacksmits bench vices.

It's not been modified (afaics) as I've seen others identical to that.

i had it but i stated the bought price and what its true value was, they then quiet and i havent had much of a complaint since then

still got the grief of where are you going to put it instead

And already spent on stuff that’s not even close to described on eBay…

I nearly always found something in the scrappy to stick on ebay to mitigate the lump
of cash I had spent on those nice bit's of metal I will use one day.
£225 profit sounds good to me.
