Something like that any good? or is there something better for around the same money?

Goingt o use it for stainless exhausts etc...

Hmmm...Chinese 3 in 1........pot luck on those really, it may work, it may not, it may be reliable, it may not.....see the pattern here?
The trouble with multi-purpose machines is that if one function fails then you've quite possibly lost 3 machines.
Oh and we've had one or two members recently bought other machines from that seller and have had issues with them not working.
I'm not saying they're bad sellers, just that maybe their quality control is errr....'slightly lacking'.

The ones for sale in the forum shop are a bit expensive.

there are a couple going second hand on ebay at the moment, AC/DC inverters....maybe they would be a better bet?

You pay for what you get tbh Paul.
If you don't intend to weld alu then I wouldn't bother with the expense and complication of an AC/DC machine. Look for a better quality DC inverter, ideally with HF or lift start and try to avoid ones that are scratch start only as they'll make it harder for you to learn on.
I'm sure there's plenty of decent DC machines floating in the Bay of E.

So what are decent makes to look out for of second hand DC inverters?

I dont intend on welding aluminium, so i guess a DC inverter is for me. As long as it stick welds too?

This guy is selling 3 tig's are they any good? I've heard butters is a good make.

Cant find any decent DC inverters on ebay...all seem to be AC/DC

The one MK linked to is a basic inverter arc welder which can also be used as a scratch start tig welder by adding a valved tig torch, regulator and gas. by the time you've added all that up it's not a cheap machine and as it's scratch start it won't be ideal to learn on.
Of the 3 you linked to either that SWP one or the Cemont would be my choice though the cemont being AC/DC means it will probably go for way more than your budget.

Should i budget for about 280?

Looks like a good DC inverter as far as I can see...
