Ended up getting a Thermal Arc 175TE .... Secondhand !.. Now Tig & Arc worked fine a few days ago when i got it.... The Arc still works but the Tig side of doe's not . When you put it on HF there's a small blue Arc but that's it, am i doing something wrong ? .. Its the same on Lift tig or HF Tig ..need help!!

The only thing that has changed was 'i swapped over to Arc for a few days then back to tig ...when i went to buy the fella had it all set up & ready when i got it home it took a few seconds before it would Arc on the tig...He has offered the money back but dont want to bring back yet untill i know its nothing im doing wrong

Have you tried using it in lift TIG, if it welds it could be that the spark gap needs adjusting on the HF start.
It sounds to me as if the bloke you bought this from is being ultra-reasonable. By the sound of it, you saw it work and bought it. A fault in an inverter can happen without warning.
If you take it back and it turns out to be something you've done wrong, you'll feel an idiot. If you let it go on for days, the seller might not feel so reasonable by then. If it turns out to have a fault on a board, it might turn out to be pricey to fix and you'll feel a bigger idiot.
If you want to look at it yourself some more, I suggest you take off the covers and make sure it's clean, not full of metal dust and make sure the internal connections are not loose. Be careful because under fault conditions it's possible that you'll have capacitors charged for a long time, so check them with a multimeter.

I've just bought a Thermal Arc 175 SE, it certainly seems like good value. Once I give it a good test I will report back on it. Thermal Arc are now part of the ESAB brand, and Thermal Arc will soon be Tweco...
According to the ESAB website, all Thermal Arc products should now carry a 3 year warranty! If they honour this, that really is a big selling point!
Edit: I spoke with a sales rep at United Welding and it would seem that the ESAB Buddy 180 is the same as the Thermal Arc 175 SE (Arcmaster). They certainly look the same...
