That appears to be one of those adapters that converts the machine to rinse and has the gas line tapped off it, The piece with the blue ring around it looks like a sintered filter, No idea how it is supposed to be attached, Sorry.
Don’t trust any of them John guest fittings on any welding equipment.
Get a CK Dinse Adapter. Those are about the best quality you will find.

Yes but instead of gas you would use it as water return back to tank.I shall have to invest. I take it I will still need it when I upgrade to.torch to water cooled
