I’ve got a few old saws and I’ve started getting one up to speed

Exactly that. It’s just a fun thing to do to while away a few hours

The bottom is the better one out of the two.

The upper one, CK pattern are ok, but are over complicated.

Plus I have a few old saws from my grandad that I can bring back into service

They are a nice restoration problem.

Handles can be re made.

Check the blade for rust pits, if not to bad, set the teeth.
If they break, they saw is dead.

Then after that away you go.

The upper one has a huge anvil on the one I’ve got. It’s only good for massive log saws.

i got The “new one” for tuppence half penny in the car boot this morning.
