its a welding forum make a small prop to hold them up
luxury we had the 2 way adaptor to go in light fitting so the ironing could be doneThat's the stuff. We also had a light switch with a 2A two-pin socket on the top. I think that even that was pushed far beyond its design limits.
Similar to this one, but ours was the higher specc'ed one, being porcelain with a Bakelite cover

its a 2pin switched socketA LIGHT SWITCH WITH A SOCKET !!! My Dads shed stil has those switches, there lovely, but I've never seen one of those...
And don't forget these, so that you could run the iron from your lighting pendant
if you decide to sell one let me know ,,, just as a curiosity ,,,, taI've got a bag of these and similar old bits and pieces of horror in the garage roof somewhere. (I'm too young to have ever seen them in use, someone gave them to me thinking they'd be of interest).
seen more fires with 12 volt lighting in houses than I have with 240v . everything's rcd protected now and most double insulated so not much chance of getting electrocuted or even a shockI wonder if we'll see 12v become the standard for lighting circuits...seems bit mad to have 240v ....then a 240v to 12/24v converter to run LED lights...would be a lot safer too I would imagine.
Better than this 3 phase tour distro.
I'm getting short of sockets so I'm using a few adapters.

Is this safe?
No I do not use these, this is a joke! These are all the ones I've removed from our home & others & replaced with trailing sockets or extra 13a sockets. They are headed for the bin, once I've removed any useful brass & copper!
