Is this mag drill anygood??

true about them being made in china but.............. i am sure if used correctly then it will last. my evo steel cutting blade is bloody brill. although its on a machine that cost near 400 quid. but the cheapo blade i got with it is nowhere near as good. has anybody used one of the evo mag drills?

nice one madkayaker. but where was his safety specs and dont you need cutting fluid etc.lol. looked like it went through quite easily.
is that actually wozz? i thought he would look different. looks like my garage at the minute as well.

It looks like a built in coolant supply, you can see it fly off when the cutter starts.
Suprised no PPE

Newby here.
Saw the title so I thought I'd ask.

Has anyone got, or used an Element 40 magdrill
Been thinking of getting one for holes up to about 30mm
These are cheap, but are they any good ? (Chinese ??)

The other one I was looking at was the Bohrmaster 35mm http://www.bohrmaster.com/ (German)

Anyone know of a mag drill that will take 2 morse taper tooling instead of the standard 19mm spigot? The Evolution ME3500 *looks* as if it should have a 2MT socket in the spindle, it has the space for it, but it doesn't seem to. Something around 1200W / 12Kg, that sort of size if possible.

i have a unibor eq100 that has a MT3 in it, it has a 2 speed gearbox on it as well as a 1-5 on the dial to set the speed, not a cheap drill tho.

as said, it ill weight a lot, mine is the best end of 25kg's but i dont pass much heed on the weight.
its good for a 100mm hole and MT3 which is what i wanted over anything, ive had it now for 10yrs or more and its never let me down yet.

The Panther we have at work isnt variable speed, have they updated them?

Just to throw another factor into the mix in case it's important to anyone - the Unibors quote a minimum of 6mm steel to clamp to but most other makers quote 10mm.

The Rotabroach panthers have been discontinued for a while - They have been replaced by the Element 40. We have a few and they are good. They seem to have dealt with some of the design issues of the previous ones - the main thing being the loop of cable between the body and the drill which were forever getting damaged - this is all internal now.
Ours are two speed which isn't great though.

yeah, as for speed changes id be lost without them on mine, but id say the mag's up to 30 or 40mm max size mightnt have the same range of speed changes, is it just a hi and a low on your element 40 paul?
