Is this galvanising acceptable?

Picked up the job this morning -

The results are as i expected them the first time around. A bit more warping, but way better coverage.

I'm much happier with it now. Ill take some photos later, but i no longer feel like ive wasted my money on it at all.

Here we go -

As an example, a picture from my first post (ie before the 2nd dip) -

Then the same area today -

The black bits are, in all but one point, just the scum / flux that chips off.

This is the other footwell that was growing stuff previously -

nothing wrong with that at all.

This is a small area that i plated -

I know the welding is poor, but this is not a visible area. You can see that the zinc has run into all the recesses / seams now.

Zoomed out -

This is the bit that has warped and / or suffered a knock -

(the top edge)

Im sure it will bend back ok though.


As you can see from the shots, its now much more as you (I) would expect from dipping an old bit of steel. Im happy with the job now.
