No, not at all, it's just a euro socket conversion mounted to the outside of the case.
Those wires are just for triggering the torch.

id be more worried about banging my shin on it trying to get a better postion with my mask down...thing looks like it would do about the same damage as a tow ball

As long as its not done what I did when I converted my SIP - connect welding earth to mains earth! Took a long while before it caused trouble - melted a power cable to something else on the same bench.

I thought that might be a problem when I first saw it, but I think there is a black plastic insulating collar behind that large mounting washer.
