Hi all, looking to start welding. I have in the past used oxy-acetylene for welding and braising in college and when working in refrigeration, have also done some arc welding a few years later but that was a long time ago. I now wish to chop a lat machine down in size, add a low pulley to it and possibly some other changes to gym equipment as well as making some other useful items. I'm Guessing that I would mostly be using boxes steel about 2-3mm thick along with some thicker flat plate for bolting items together and on occasion 25mm solid round bar for making a weight tree or similar.
I was looking at the Clarke 160N Easi Arc Welder for starting. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated and my budget is a budget it's around £200.
