Finally after a lot longer than planned I have got the crap out of my garage relocated and got the corsa and welding clobber at home which means I can have a proper go at it - started on the back panel!
It all seems to have gone ok apart from obviously not trimming back far enough and having to chase some holes in thin metal. I think I also need a lot of practise in making the panels to give a neater result. The welding itself was certainly easier than the wheel well as I wasn't upside down! But any tips on making it neater would be greatly appreciated.
I'm generally pushing the weld or spotting with just a split second to avoid it blowing holes but still keep it hot enough to melt the spots together if that makes sense.
It's a sealey supermig 185, co2 12lpm, .8 wire, setting 2 with wire about 3 I think.
