Is this a good deal?

Ringing around local stockists i've found a place that does a bottle of argon co2 5% mix for £64.80 per refill plus £90 deposit rent free, according to the guy is a 20L bottle, is this about right?

Sounds about within £10 of the norm for each!

If it's local too that's great. With the arrangement I have it's +£10.95 for delivery/pickup, + the inconvenience of arranging....

My refill is only £30 but I rent the bottle at £50 a year...so over a couple of years works out about the same, although if I was using loads my costings would work out cheaper I suppose.

I've just changed to non-rental and mine is a little less than that but as Fran says, suppliers prices do vary a bit.

dunno woz... local gas supplier, does all the usual bottled fuel & pub gases and some commercial/welding gas..... been round a while, proper business premises, sign written van..card payement & reciept

went in... asked Q, left with bottle.....supplies at least 3 buisinesses I know...thats how I found them... only on 20l bottles tho so???? I'm not asking afaik it is legit.

Just wondered if it was a mate of a mate sort of deal.

Looks like more suppliers are cottoning on to the non-rental idea, rental is all very well and good for industrial users but us low-volume users have got stung pretty badly until now.

Looking at boc x bottle (same amount of gas according to them) it seems a bit steep, 63/year rental and 40 odd refill. i could have a y bottle like i used to for similar money
