Is there a type of pull switch that requires much less force to operate than a bathroom switch?

I want to rig a switch up out-doors (that will be attached to a Fenn trap for rats). The idea is that when the trap is triggered, a piece of fishing line (attached to the trap) will operate some sort of pull switch without impeding the action of the trap. The switch will turn on a (battery powered) low voltage bulb. Thus, at night I can just look out the window and see that the trap(s) have been triggered.

Can you use a micro switch operated with a lever connected to your string? You could adjust the pull required by altering the length of the leverage.

There are all sorts of lever operated micro-switch that would be suitably. could you fit a switch direct to the trap then run bell type wire back to your bulb less chance to false triggering.

Try using a reed switch and magnet, magnet on the door reed switch on trap body

Use a normal micro switch & fit make a little lever pivoted so the lever is across the operating button. I think Snoopers idea of a reed switch would be the business, easy to rig up. You can easily source one as they are used on door switches for burglar alarms & cost pence.

Caravan tap micro switch or as already mentioned a magnetic alarm type switch.

Both directly on the trap.

I take it you using a cage as a tunnel for your fenn, otherwise even with a light your not going to see if the trap is sprung or not. I would just check it in the daylight
