Is primer needed on top of overpaintable stone chip?

I applied 3M rubberised/overpaintable stone chip today. The manual says "can be over painted with most paint systems", doesn't say whether primer is needed or if I can apply 2K polyurethane direct to the stone chip. Anyone know?

If it is overpaintable, it suggests that no primer is required. Anything is overpaintable with the right primer.

I've always gone straight over it with top coat.
Just give it the full drying time, but not too much longer and you should be ok.

The manufacturers always say carry out compatibility tests to cover themselves, which is fair enough, as they don't know what you are overcoating it with.
