i have only just started welding and have been practising on old brake disk with 0.9 mm flux core i am just wondering is it any good ? Thanks in advance

Looks bloody reasonable to me especially laid on cast iron.

Might find your mum gets a bit of judder through the pedal now though

Brake discs are most likely steel, not iron.

I'd have said cast iron, unless you've some exotic machine with ceramic or carbon fibre.

^^ A quick Google says most are made fro grey (gray) cast iron or an alloy, but a fair few from cast steel, then there's the exotics as you say

i have practiced on steel discs tried on cast ones too but it didnt like it!
