Plus the cable length could be pathetically short as was often the style with drills of that age.the insulation might be easily damaged and better if replaced with a new length.
I must admit I don’t need it as it’s only 400w my corded drill is over 1000wGive it a good eye balling.
The cable is easily replaced.
It is double insulated, so a 2 core cable we be ok.
Give the switch a good working over.
Fit a plug, 5 amo fuse.
If you are nervous.
Clamp it to a bench.
Switch it on.
Plug it in.
Switch it on..
If it works away you go.
Parts can be found still.
I have saved older B&D in the past.
It's probably been cut off because someone wanted the plug but not the drillIt’s been well used and someone has cut the plug off for a reason.
I don't know about that. I used an old mains drill and a mains angle grinder on Sunday. I had forgotten how much more powerful they are than battery toolsBefore fitting plug check the cable insulation as its 37 years old, the insulation might be easily damaged and better if replaced with a new length. Its likely quite rubbish and not worth the effort compared to a cordless.
It is one of the cheapest and weediest drills they made but I would give it a try. I keep a an RCD adaptor socket for such occasions.I must admit I don’t need it as it’s only 400w my corded drill is over 1000w

Perhaps there are times when using a weedy drill can be a good thing . If it works, and the OP doesn't want it, there may be someone else who'd to happy to have it and best saved from the skip.It is one of the cheapest and weediest drills they made but I would give it a try.
