Sorry if this is in the wrong place people, but.........Kinell methinks there is something wrong with his pricing..... even Matts Lorches are cheaper than that......
list price is over £3500 inc vat on the sealey site, but there list price is just a fugure they pluck out of the air, normally most stuff is discounted by 25% from list. It can be bought else where for about £2500 inc vat so at over £3000 plenty of profit in it lol.
Bear in mind its only a 160amp machine with duty cycle stated as 60% at 90amps. £2500 would i imagine get you near enough a 200amp ac/dc lorch
sealey ones are normally made by Telwin. I wouldnt rate telwin as a great high quality machine, nothing wrong with them. But in my opinion there quality is about middle of the road.
weldequip has probaly seen this an is doubling his prices as we speak
if you can get a 220 amp lorch for that sort of money, then they are very sensibly priced
I've noticed a few box movers on eBay selling Sealey stuff (or trying to!) at full list price. Can't understand it, maybe just cheap advertising for their website? although I can't see that they have a website
weldequip
Sealey gear RRP is very expensive these days, never bought much of their stuff, as it was either cheap crap or cheap crap.
However we bought a Techna Spot welder before xmas cost 4.5k with all the bits, Liquid cooled, the mutts nutts, or so we were told. The first day we had it I had the leads smoking. Got the dealer back and he tried to ******** us in to buying a bigger unit, boss told them where to stick it. Bought a new Liquid cooled digi sealey, (2.5k) and I must say it is the best thing since the invention of the wheel.
Could well be scarecrow, a long while ago 70 pence used to buy you one Euro. I know a good few irish folk who had businesses over here sold up and disappeared back home to Ireland. Now its around 1 to euro to the pound, it wouldnt be such a good deal. For the UK its added around 30% to the price of anything European made in the last couple of years. For you in Ireland, you can come to England, spend a few nights at the Ritz, wine and dine yourselves and go back home to Ireland and still have change out of a 5 euro note.
