Shingles is not nice, especially when older. My son’s mother in law got it about 4 years ago & she has never really recovered. Parts of her skin is so sensitive that even her clothes are painful to wear, she was told at the time if it doesn’t clear up in 6 months it never will. Take the jab if offered.

Weather against me now sadly. I need to take the body off and stand it vertical for more welding underneath.
Then I need to take it outside and blast it before painting - so near and yet so far

you can have the vaccination before during or after shingles... i had mine when was diagnosed.

First time I got it across my back and my wife had to paint some stuff on it which was like acid when it was applied. Second time I recognised the symptoms but it was on my forehead and scalp. Doctor said if it progressed to my eye I was to go straight to A&E. It has caused some nerve damage on my head and often it feels like something is crawling on my head. It's bad enough while you have it but the lingering effects are a nuisance as well. My last dose was a few years ago and I am definitely having the injection when it is available. A friend of mine sadly now gone had it a couple of years ago complaining of a burning rash on his face and I told him to get to the doctor and tell them what it was. If it's caught early it is treatable with tablets and then some aqueous calamine lotion will take the sting out.
