Is DVLA in a mess at the moment?

Local MP has a reputation for NOT answering his constituents letters/emails.

DVLA not interested in whether I undertook a D4 medical, only that it was not scanned into the system, therefore I did not send it.

DVLA's attitude stinks, but they have the upper hand. My stress levels went through the roof over this, so will chill out in the knowledge that this will never happen to me

Too many soft verges and narrow roads around here.
As I do not know the full facts I am NOT making any statement about this accident other than, as I no longer hold a PCV it won't be me.

If some muppet of a civil servant sends me a letter asking me if I want to return to driving hgv/pcv - they really are desperate around here - I will probably end up being persecuted prosecuted for my reply.

Got a letter today from DVLA - immediate attention required! - you claimed back indemnity on a DD payment via your bank which you were not entitled to???
Anyway, point being I called the number for this dept and they answered instantly - somethings they are interested in seem to perform very well

Yes they like to hold on to your money, and are quick enough to process fines and demands indeed !! Was waiting on the car tax refund on a car I sold. Waited the possible 6 weeks before contacting them? Anyway after playing some ping pong with a chat bot eventually got to chat/text with human. Turns out they were sitting on the tax refund as they didn't know who to refund it too, me or the new owner........said it could take up to another 6 weeks......what a shambles.
Also whilst going through the gatekeeper chat bot questions it asked if i was a NHS or emergency services worker? What difference that makes to refunding my tax is a mystery to me
