The IFL 200PHF that I have used about thirty times to learn and practice with, appears to be dead after not being touched for around six months. I came to use it yesterday to tack something and there was no HF start, or in fact any kind of arc other than what looked like a tiny 12v/500ma spark when touching.
When it was supposed to pulse the HF start, all I noticed was that my DAB radio went quiet, and the amperage display on the welder showed some funny numbers momentarily. It was set to 65amp, and when I pushed the trigger, the display jumped to a higher number and then a lower number like 7 or something.
There was a faint whiff of magic smoke after a while.
I hope/think it's under warranty, and will find out, but even so I'm worried it will happen again. Does anyone have any experience of this kind of problem? I thought I had chosen well. I usually try to :-(
