Inverter arc welder

Hi folks,

I'm just wanting a bit of advice on buying the above. I'm welding generally crash barriers of artic trailers and bits and bobs like that.

Whats the best size to be looking at? I'd like to stick to 240v. Price = i want a decent machine good value do my job and not be running after it in a years time!

Any help appricated

Post up a few details about how thick, what materials etc that the "crash barriers" are made of.

Prob around 5 - 6mm won't be using it a lot as it will only be the odd patch and repair job. Have been looking at the fusion 180 amp on weldequips site and i thought that might do ok. Have also came across a lincoln invertec v160s, the guy says it hasn't done very much and is pretty much as new. He's wanting £300 for it. All help appreciated

Thanks! do you know much about the lincoln invertec v160s?

Would £300 be a good price for one thats hardly used?

if it works yes. but make sure it does as the electronics in them are very hard/ expensive to repair

Thanks for that, the guy had said it has holders etc but no cables so that means i can't test it until i get them. Think if we're gonna deal then he may get them in the deal!
