Internet gurus help needed.

The short version is i have a reseller account with Host Gator and when i try to get on my Web Host Manager i am being blocked.

Virgin have confirmed it is my IP address that is being blocked.
But host gator claim its not them doing it......

Any sensible suggestions ??

You tried going through a VPN ? as then it will see a different IP addy .

Well i tried one....it did not seem to work.
But then it worked for 3 days....i think the vpn was running in the background.

But i tried with kproxy and it still would not connect.....but i was online to chat and could not reboot......so i will try that route again.

Are you paying virgin for a static ip?

virgin dishes out your own ip address but if it gets reset at there end you can end up with another ip address this can cause you problems

even your firewall can block popups or addons in your system

so try it first I dont use virgin medias firewall i use my own

What control panel does it have? this happens to me sometimes on cpanel. I use remote desktop then login via my office and remove the blocked ip.

nope. but they wont force a change and say the next renewal is on the 30th of Feb...ROTFLMAO. which did make me wonder how good he was.

Anyway and update . I have tried winscribe and its flaky... so I then tried tunnel bear. Actually both of them will allow me access via virgin using IE and chrome but firefox refuses to play ball.

SO I do have a work around now but I could do with a decent cheap paid VPN or even better a decent free one.

AND what I dont know bugs me...so I want to know why the VPN does not work with firefox..

Yes mate thats how I know it works on vodafone and O2. But its finding out why...as although the lease renews it renews to the previous one if its available and its been going on for 2 months now..I get mail from 5 sites and run it through mail traq so its not really convenient using me my data allowance.

update::: It seems the IP address I am displaying belongs to a static IP and is in glasgow.....its gets more weird as the day goes by...

tor is slow but yes I could. same here I am having to relearn things I forgot years ago..lol

whats bugging me is if I go to whats my IP or similar it gives me an Ip address But that IP address is registered as a static IP address in glasgow. I just cant see how its even working...lol

the strange thing is your phone is getting through via wireless

is it through virgins wireless connection or through data connection

if virgins wireless connection or even wired to your phone does it let you through

have you tried dmz direct to the net not through virgins firewall system ?

To clarify.

I can only get through on my phone if its in data not wifi via virgin.

I can also get through from my pc if i use hotspot via vodafone or via O2 dongle.

I cant get through from any machine pc x 2 laptop or phone via virgin wifi or wired. This is using any browser.

I can however get through via IE and Chrome if i use a VPN. (Via virgin)
I cant however get through using firefox using the same VPN.

Whilst checking my IP i find the one my virgin router is broadcasting is allocated to a static IP listed as being in use in Glasgow.

So to sum up..i have a work around. I will ask virgin about the static IP address tommorow.
But whilst i am guessing the duplicate IP is possibly the cause of my problems i wont know for a while.

It is bugging me why i cant get access using any VPN whilst using firefox......not that i need too..........its more a wish to know . Than need to.
