In all honesty, I’m probably looking to jump before I can crawl let alone walk.
I could do to turn up a faceplate for the Kerry Lathe I picked up a while back, so I can use a 3 jaw or 4 jaw chuck.
The one issue I currently foresee is that the 3 jaw chuck has a minor wobble, which is going to pass the discrepancy on to what will be the new faceplate.
Seem to be struggling with spare time at the moment too, but I suppose the first port of call would be to check the run out on the current faceplate, then with the 3 jaw chuck attached, and then to check the jaws are true?
Alternatively, I could get someone or somewhere to bore and thread the dirty great lump of round bar I have as a doorstop at the moment..
Any tips or pointers?
