Good afternoon All,
Eventually I have gas, ooer, and have started to do the basic setup.
0.6mm Wire is feeding well, at differing speeds. Set at 4,5m/min
5% Gas is getting through, at a measured 10lpm.
Voltage at 16.5v
Steel 1mm ex-washing machine, painted, but flap-wheeled and clean.
Sometimes I get a weld of 50mm and at other times I have to take half a dozen goes at getting an arc. The wire appears to be sticking in the copper tip. This means that setting the wire speed is difficult to say the least. There also seems to be a delay between pulling the trigger, at which point the gas comes in, and the wire starting to feed, if it does at all.
I am sure that one answer will be to use thicker material to begin with, but I thought that if it was my inability to control the arc with thin material, I would have difficulty all the time.
I will do some pics if required, but I may get sorted with a basic trouble shoot.
Many thanks.
