Thanks - I never knew that!Its not an uncommon technique for mma welding thin sheet, known as broken arc welding, you have to re hit it before the slag goes off red heat so that it re melts, the lower cost and portability of mig and tig have made it rarely seen nowadays but its still a useful method to master, especially for site maintenance / repair work,
I don’t necessarily agree. It has its uses. As I said in my post I used the same technique to radius my seat support tube.Such a waste of time that, cut miters and weld it up, cut in radius bends after if u need them.
