We were woke up at 1 a.m. to be told a shop we own had been vandalised, both the main windows had been smashed, The police did eventually come out as we could see people about on the local park clearly not caring about Covid-19, Sad times and more hassle luckily we have glass cover but that will just cost more on the policy

not nice it makes you feel sick as said it puts your premiums up as well

Luckily i am an optimist so rather than cry about it we are going to repaint it and make the front look a bit nicer.

Maybe it was only put in there a day before but it is a American themed barbers.

Sign of the times I'm afraid. Although it shouldn't be. Your heart sinks when you're vandalised or burgled. Our landlord has just block paved the car park that the local pub has permission to use. Next morning a builder in his lorry had dumped enough rubbish to fill four large skips. Luckily the fairground boss who lives on their site next door, heard the noise and took the number of the lorry on his phone. Police were called and given the number. They weren't interested. It'll be traced and settled privately though because they have to be local to know where we are and he got a partial company name. I hate fly tippers and litterers. I loved this farmer's solution.

Looking at the local Facebook sites , this appears to be happening a lot, shops, cars . Just mindless vandalism

After the fourth time my shop windows were smashed I fitted shutters.
Then I had the Council on at me for planning permission (got it retrospectively)
Later the Council were back on at me for not painting them (never bothered)

If it's anything like motor insurance, you're duty bound by the policy terms to report any damage. Worth checking the small print, just in case.

Quite a few of the local shops to us that are closed down at the moment have been boarded up, preemptively, not sure whether it's just the owners choice or the insurance have told them to.

I would be confident that the farmers obtained more identification on the individuals than shown in the video. They know where the farmers live, but then they know the farmers are not cowards also.

More likely they wanted the flag, but actually smashing the window properly to get it was beyond their intelligence, and way noisier than they thought.
