Interesting places to visit

Hello all, we were on holiday in South Wales last week, and discovered by accident, the Kidwelly Industrial Museum. It made a real change from the usual museums of this type, none of this interactive malarkey for the kids, this is a proper museum, lots of big old machinery, you can get right up close to. The beauty of it is, for those folks like me who are mechanically challenged, you can see how the clunkycoggywhirlythings get the power from the furnace to the rollers. Whatever you do, don’t miss the boardroom/office display in the “Boxing Room “, it’s as if you have been taken back in time a hundred years, It was a bit spooky, I have never felt anything like it. Oh, and there is a chilblain’s play area if you really have to take the family along, only joking the kids will love it.
So, I was wondering does anyone have any other suggestions for less well known places of interest that are worth a visit.

I think the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry takes some beating. It's on the site of the worlds first commercial railway station. it's got something of eveything for everyone. Recently undergone a large refurb and best of all it's free.

Ill second a few of them, Ironrridge, as a place has numerous small museums aswell, if they still do the passport tning it worth getting.
And Westons Cider, things to interest most, rare breeds for the kids too.

Didcot railway centre was pretty good too. As was Dingles steam village, although not much going on when we visited, they do have special days, worth checking.

Westons?
Cider? what is 'Stowford press' ? is it a kind of sweet fizzy pop? it sure aint cider.

Westons is ok to visit but I would not drink much of their cider, one of the better of the larger cider makers but notso sure of the qulity of the drink.

This the place for real cider, 100 varieties of apple http://www.rosscider.com/ a real business run by real people. Have a nominated driver if going for a tasting.

Contact Mike or Phil and get the real malarkey, there is a also good food upstairs in the restaurant, but the Cider cellar is the real deal, also orchard walks and alpacas.
