Oddly I watched that end of last week, interesting idea but the execution is as rough as a badger's ............... I can not remember what I was looking for, I suspect something to do with lathes but I don't remember one being used in that video.

He should have made one end of the chain detachable so it could fit round pipes where the end isn't accessible.

I made a chain wrench ages ago, very effective on oil filter removal, will post pic tomorrow, ultra simple to make.

Here is the chain wrench that I posted above, Very simple, Very effective and fully adjustable, One leg from a pair of eagle beaks (water pump pliers) with the end ground to enter any of the bike chain links, It's even got my name on the handle.

Every toolbox should have one along with first aid kit when he cuts his hand off for holding the grinder wrong and no guard...

I have one with a leather strap instead of the chain, but I know a source for chain and that looks simplicity itself to make.

Back when I was servicing my early cars a screwdriver driven through the canister types of filters worked - a bit rough & ready, but needs must.........

I've also got one of these, good tool for removing jar lids etc - I've even used it to remove the chuck from the lathe, before I got the bigger one mentioned above.

I think that we have all done the screwdriver driven through the canister dodge at some time or another, The chain wrench above I made over 40years ago and been used countless time since, All my working life I carried eagle beaks in my overalls rule pocket, Amazing how many uses they can be put to. You can get a tremendous grip with some of the better makes,

Got lucky at Corbridge steam rally a few years ago and picked up a pair of 18" Bluepoint water pump pliers for £3!

Never found anything better for shifting oil filters.

For years I had a brilliant chain wrench made by Proto that I got from a family friend before he died. Sadly my charming brother either lost it, got it stolen or (most likely) flogged it to buy booze
