Insurance for welding services contractor?

Hello
Can anyone give me information of the type of insurance i will nee for any hot-work ie welding, cutting, grinding?

I'm looking to work on customer sites building stainless steel skids and frames.

Guessing i need cover in-case i burn any building down, damage anything etc

Any info greatly received.

Having been looking at insurance last year, i wish you good luck.
They may want to know an estimate of your turnover and a percentage of hot works performed at customers premises.
Getting cover shouldn't be too hard, the biggest problem is finding someone who you can talk to with a brain rather than a screen with tick boxes and prompts in front of them.
Regardless of who you go with make sure you aware of all the safe and recommended precautions and have all your paperwork up to date or come to a claim, it will be down to you anyway.

They were one of the better ones i spoke to this time around I filled in the web form then they called back.
Have used then on the past.
I used then years back and found them helpful.

If you want cover in case of damage to passers by or others property that would be Public Liability insurance
Cover for damage caused by defective workmanship is Product Liability
Professional advice is covered by Professional Indemnity
If you employ others (depending upon who they are) you may need Employers Liability (covers ham to employees) this can also be a statutory requirement.

If you are set up as a limited company and do not have many assets in the business then some take a different approach to insurance than if you were a larger company or a sole trader.

Depending upon who you work for, the requirements can often be driven by your clients requirements.

I have this cover but then I am qualified and I have been insuring a few years now without a claim.

I am with nfu now and I think thistsection of my insurance is about £500 ish? It was nearly 2k at the start and then I had to fund the first few k (with another firm of insurers).
