my brother failed one of his tests as car wouldnt start, all the examiners pushed started, well tried to,eventually tester said sorry but we have run out of time...
Gonna show my age now:
Car test in my fathers Austin Maxi (Vanden Plas)
My Lorry test in a 1989 ERF E14
On the day of my bike test there wasn't a bike examiner available, so I had a woman follow me round in a car. I kept having to pull over and wait for her. Apparently she had only passed her bike test shortly before.Happened to me too, the first time. Examiner looked at me, looked at the car then back at me. At that point I expected him to issue the fail, but he waited until the end of the test.
My bike test was a farce. I went around the wrong way and nearly ran down an old man with his dog in full sight of the examiner. When he passed me, I argued with him!

Same here, it was chucking it down and the tester was not happy standing in the rain, I think I did the once round the block he stepped into the road, I stopped about five yards away from him with out locking up my XL125S's knobbly tyres, he walked up to me and said something like 'you can obviously ride the bloody thing' showed me a couple of road signs in a damp book then said 'you have passed lets go back inside'.Ah but in my day, all the examiner did was to stand on the footpath and wander about while you did a figure 8 around two blocks. I waited until he was in clear view of me before trying to kill the poor pedestrian.

Must have been one of the shortest 'passed' bike tests ever.
Except @doubleboost. LolAll MOT testers are temporary!
Yep, that was about the size of it then. It was just before they reduced the learner cc to 125. I took the test on a 250 Superdream then went and bought an R100RT. Everyone said it was a death wish, but it was a far safer and better handling bike than the Honda.
Ripping up the L plates in front of the shift at work felt great
