Most are not.

Plus the rest still applies as people coming the other way still might not know that your lane is controlled. Kids / non drivers wont know at all.

Just a small fact that I bet Justme knows, there are no traffic lights on the Llŷn Peninsula so he is correct at least for around here, there are pedestrian crossings with lights but no traffic light controlled junctions.

not a lot of difference between mr bm and mr audi along with 4x4 where the only sniff of off road they do is accidentally go on the side of the lawn at home

Don't know about that? both my 4X4's spend about 1/3rd of their time off road, I must accidentally go into a lot of fields. That would explain why I often come out of them filled with timber from fallen trees.

I always indicate turns whether there's anyone there or not.

I've never had an issue with leaving the indicators on - what with being able to remember what I did with my hands for more than 3 seconds...


Edit: and that flashing light on the dash, and the ticking noise.

Better safe than sorry, not difficult to flick an indicator switch and a quick glance at the dashboard shows that flashing green light and yes the clicking certainly give it away; when that emergency vehicle with blue lights flashing come up behind you at speed they have a visible indication and know your intentions and have time to best place themselves on the road to continue travelling at speed to reach a destination and potentially save a few lives.

I wonder what excuse some clowns have for leaving their rear fog lights on when it hasn't been foggy for a few days, that big orange light gives that away; or don't they look at their dashboards for days at a time.

If your sitting at a junction and somebody is coming towards you with their indicator flashing it can only mean one thing with 100% certainty. It's not that they are turning left or right, it's telling you that the bulb works

As a motorcyclist, you soon realise that applies to any lights or signals a box driver makes.
