Inspection pit lift

Have been working on it for some time now. I needed something temporary for the inspection pit that I am using now, it is quite narrow. Once I move to the new garage I will make a new movable crossbar but the cylnder and the trolley will remain, together with the traverse.

What stops the car from tilting up/down?

he's only lifting one end at a time it's what you would call a pit jack same as some mot stations use

I wouldn't say well thought... At the beginning I just meant to use it with a usual bottle jack, but once I lifted the car I felt a desperate need for changes because I couldn't move the car to the left/right. I didn't want to discard the crossbar that I made for the bottle jack so I just found a way to use it with the caster setup..

then.. I didn't want to spend too much money making my own casters so I used the ones from the hand pallet truck, they are cheapo and serve their purpose.. (chinese bearings)

I know there should be an option to move it back and forth but the sides of the pit would need re-working 'cos they are not properly levelled
