I have loads of tools and loads of inserts. Not matched them all up yet but my failing is Tool holders.
But as there is looking like a full lockdown or at least tier 4 for some months to come I am preparing myself.

I just thought they would be a standard tool inserts.
The bonus is it wont be something I need on a weekly basis.
can you use sleeves to sleeve then down??I thought this one was going to do what I wanted BUT its the opposite. Its just an adapter for a set size and its actually held in a collet chuck.
I assume the principle could be used to made adaapters that sticl out of larger end mill holders as I only have a 1 inch holder. But that would add stick out and flex and induce inaccuracies. so I was thinking of maybe reducers with a slot/hole in that allows a longer grub screw to contact the flat on the thinner tool??? Any observations appreciated??

Could you let us know the taper in your machine's spindle and the shank diameter of the cutter? That way, we will be in a better position to offer good advice.
sorry its an R8 for a bridge port. Not sure what that cutter I purchased is yet! But I was thinking of making it universal with sleeves if possible.

You don't really want to be messing about with sleeves unless you are shrinking them on.

The more interfaces you have between cutter and spindle, the less secure the cutter will be. Perhaps wait until the cutter is delivered and buy a proper R8 collet for it of the correct measurement system. Consider the replacement cost of the cutter body and the trashed inserts if it does walk.
