I have some railings to get galvanised and powdercoated black.
Highland Galvanisers aren't doing any powdercoating at present, and don't have a date for starting back up again, more's the pity.
What are my options? Wait for them to open back up again, or re-price the customer for paint instead and do it myself. Which I really don't want to do, but might be the only way.
Experiences?
T-wash solution looks like most foolproof for prep.
Followed by... what? Can I then use any quality metal primer? I have tons of Paintmaster grey oxide.
And then a good topcoat? My go-to is Johnstones gloss. Should I go with something better than alkyd?
Last thing i want to do is install and then have it flaking off within a year or two.
