Automotive can bus uses twisted pair cables but they normally use regular plastic connectors combined with other wiring, they are also not that fussy about keeping the twists right up to the connector either so I dont think you will have any problems running it all through a multiple connector.
Price is the main problem!
There is a type if d-sub connector that uses flat gold contacts rather than pins, they are cheap and a bit more rugged. I have some somewhere, cann look and see what they are if you want?
Another option would be use standard network connectors (very cheap) but terminating the ends short and making up (or buy cheap enough) a couple of patch leads using the ends of them to do the actuall connecting with. Just swap them out when they get damaged.
