in the field metal coatings for steel

looking for recommendations for a good rustproofing primer and paint (black or white) for painting steel railings made and fitted / welded in the field. Suitable for applying with roller or small basic compressor and gun. mostly without galvanise but gate posts I do galvanise
currently on red oxide and then hi -build vinyl.

You could mix up a small pot of epoxy primer then over that with your topcoat. It can be overcoated (by spray) after an hour. Not ideal for use in cold weather though.
