In need of some bearings.

Not to replace the ones I allegedly lost many years ago .

My wind-catching spinny roundy garden ornament is ill due to the cheap nasty unsealed miniature ball bearings in it having rusted to death. Does anyone know of a source of said items, 22mm o/d, 8mm bore, 7mm thick, and sealed?

Simply bearings or ebay for the bearings

Have you thought of putting some sort of seal or deflector over the beating to deflect the water off it?
Can you post a photo of the turnny bit?

Much thanks chaps, but OH has just beaten me to it and ordered some sealed units from ebay @£3.90 for 10!

Seems ridiculously cheap to me , but not complaining.

When you fix it. Put the spares in a safe place so you can guarantee you lose them the minute you close the door

Old collapsed bearing is now removed, and had "b*****d" written all over due to the outer race being firmly rusted in, until I remembered that I acquired a Dremel type tool from my late FIL when I cleared his shed out last year after the MIL passed away. 15 minutes patient cutting at 20,000rpm and a couple of taps with the hammer, job done .

New bearings on order, 2 of which are to replace the nasty ones in the identical ornament that OH bought her brother last Christmas that's currently in our shed. Him and his husband live in London and we don't see them very often, but they're visiting next week, so a belated pressie will await them. Not sure how safe they'll be in my mancave attempting to remove circlips and bearings, mind you . Might take them out myself or it will pave the way for very dodgy innuendo about ball races and nuts .

Simply bearings and the likes are great for sizing things up first, then you can decide whether a standard size will do for what ever your looking to do/replace an old one. Then you can search everywhere else for the cheapest Chinese manufactured piece of toffee you can find, application dependant!!!
