it will mainly used on site so it will be ran on 110 v,either from a transformer or a genie,,,,,all so what sort of kva should i be looking for,me thinks 5.5 should be surfice......any input welcome cheers guys.

We've got a parweld 180 A dual voltage inverter at work.
It's still sitting in the box as the info says it needs 48Amps on110v flat out
The 110v sockets around the plant won't handle it.
Someone came up with the crazy idea of getting a generator to run it off.
The whole idea was to be able to carry it up all the stairs to make quick repairs easily using the 110. Not carry a welder and a generator.
It was supposed to replace having to drag the leads from a 400 A gennie around.

Iv never been hauled up for using 240V inverters, I'm guessing strict sites might well be arsey, I know some who work in Hell (London), that carry a 110v to keep the site inspector happy, But plug the 240v in when working
easy to do if you've got a big box of pipe fittings, tool box etc, that you can tuck the machine behind......as mentioned 110v is just plain crap..

There is a good 110volt one, Its called a lightening 160Amp, this is pure 110Volt runs from a 5kva transformer or a 5 kva gennie 145amps and will run a 4mm from a 5kva transformer

Humm interesting,been told today nexus do one its got every thing i need out of the machine,and my mate swears by his and it has made him saome doller,,will nip into the dealers later and get some info then will post my findings....thanks for the replys guys.

dual voltage
Hi there, I carry a genny and inverter in the back of my van all the time, I was running a 140 amp eutectic on a 6.5 KVA Honda. That worked pretty much ok. I bought a 160 amp EWM, and find it is fine up to 130-140 amps, but the genny lacks the power to go higher. The manual states you need 8.5 KVA to run the ewm. As far as dual power goes you will get out what you put in I also have a 160 amp EWm and a Fronius 140, both are dual voltage and if using a 110 supply the supply current almost doubles. I fitted a 110 volt, 16 amp plug to both and ground of the little location spigot, you can then use the same plug in a blue 16 amp socket as the pins are the same. I am not sure what a H&S guy would have to say about this, but I have had no problems. I hope this is of help.

yes it does thank you,well talking to a friend yesterday a nd i will be bye a 7.5 kva gennie off him for a small fee then will be looking at the nexus range from leengates hear in lincoln,i will keep you posted on how it goes.thanks for the help.
