Evening all..
Had phone call me old cap..could I go round a repair a bit of rot on his lorry..as you can see from pictures its a bit more than a bit of rot...i said I would try and fab a new step..slap some filler over it he replied..hmmmm....so a couple of hours later hear I am making one part of repair panel as Mercedes don't make em anymore....typical...the panel I am making hasn't been cut to size...as I don't have metal pan/folder..it was done with timber and a mallet.

Its a Mercedes 609 diesel..5.5 tone...used to be a recovery truck..now a tar tanker...

Same problem with my 89LT. You can build a 'new' Splitty or Bay from parts, but getting anything for mine, not a hope in Hell.

It looks like a decent mud flap would have prevented the damage, appears localised to where stones are kicked up. And a good lick of stone chip on the inner wing.
