Has anyone run more than a 2.5Kg pack of rods through theirs? I was most impressed by the performance of my cheap one until it died a death very early - some of the silicon inside exploded. Was a bit less impressed then as it worked out to be a very, very expensive welder per rod.

It comes with 12 months warranty and company has good reviews as they also sell other types of welders.

I'd also have posted a good review prior to mine failing - but how many have actually used theirs once the novelty has burnt off and the first project completed? These all look very similar so I expect them to have come from the same design/factory so will be interesting to see what others are making of them longer term. That's why it would be good to compare how long they last in terms of boxes of rods!

Mine arrived today..its seriously small. Ive priced mine into a job so win win if it only lasts a pack of rods. The brand seems the upper end of the Chinese Market, lots of good reviews on the other model of welder, also a UK seller and warranty which is a plus if things go tits up

I'll be taking mine to work with me tomorrow as need to weld some patches on a boat in the drydock so it will get a nice workout. Let us no how you find it .

I've been using mine at work this week running 2.5 an 3.2 rods with no issues. Today I used some 1.6 rods welding some 1.2 mm sheet.

I thought the 140 was the largest amp model they did in that size as I looked at there 160 and it was a bigger body. I may be wrong, I often am

I used it this week in a dry dock that had 2 inches of mud in the bottom so just used the shoulder strap that came supplied. Did really notice is was there.

Thats what i was thinking, my other welder im going to start using for jobs is an expensive bit of kit this i could just put in the pickup and leave there only bring the other one out if i knew i had a lot of serious welding to do.

Ah it's still small but it is bigger than than the 140 model.

Unless it's a really small puddle, remember to take/make a folding stand for it, as the leads will be pretty short.

True finally found the specs. To be honest though it aint that bad i still dont think you would notice it.
