Howdy All.
Great site. I'm impressed with the quality of the discussion and the pics too! I have a fairly basic question I can't find addressed in the threads. I'm an inexperienced welder using a Lincoln Electric SP-175Plus (220). I use CO2/AR for sheilding. My particular unit shipped with a .035 liner (though the wire supplied was .025, go figure).
Does one need to be a 'purist' in terms of liner and wire diameter matching? I'd like to avoid the expense of switching from the liner supplied with the machine to one for .025 wire. I'd like to use the .035 liner, with a .025 wire and tip. I'm hesitant to go up to .035 because I'm welding 14ga to probably 18ga and I'm worried about blow-thru.
Thoughts? If this is set-up would cause kinking, birdnesting, etc. I'll stop my griping and pay the extra cash. Thanks for any opinions.
