For the money this is fine. Much better than my previous wire and ready available at Screwfix. I guess in the long run you gets what you pays for but for my work (which is non-load bearing) and doesn’t have to be pretty, this is great. Anyone else tried it?

Never tried flux core, curious, heard so many varying accounts.

First flux core wire I tried was super6, definitely wasn't pretty and very smokey. Parkside wire was a big improvement but I find the arc with flux core is that bright it hurts my eyes, and if I go a darker shade on the helmet, I can't see where I'm welding
I'd rather use stick than flux core.

I've used flux core, in my first cheapie wee Clarke, and I've tried it in my Oxford 180-1.
I have a 5kg reel of 0.8mm E71-TGS FC wire in the airing cupboard. Kept for if I have to weld on the van outside (it's a pretty draughty spot).
It welds OK in the Oxford tbh. Yes more fumes, a bit more spatter, a bit hotter and of course slag - but given my rubbish novice hobby welder status, I'm far better off with FC than MMA stick - easier to use.

Problem with buying wire from Impax/Lidl/Super 6 is that it will be made by whoever was cheapest at the time. So you might get a good roll this time but the next one might be rubbish.
That being said I once bought 5kg rolls of Mig wire from Lidl & it was superb! Should have bought more as they never had it in again.

Best to stick to branded stuff from Lincoln, etc as it will be consistently good.

I use Lincoln Innershield NR211, have tried a few and the Lincoln is worth the money imho.

I have been buying Super 6 Tungsten and MIG wire. (Regular mig wire) and found it to be good.

Next time I'll ask what is good to buy.

It is budget. Didn't say it was terrible. I have used it myself and if you buy anything unbranded off Ebay you will probably receive Super 6 through the post.

I've bought Lincoln wire in the past and it wasn't even precision wound. Even Super 6 manage that. Bit of a minefield to be honest with consumables.

Super 6 don't make their own stuff, just buy it from whoever gives them the best deal then rebrand it. So this time the stuff you buy could be great, the next time rubbish as it was made by somebody else!

Given that you are in Tyrone I would try McIntyres in Dungannon & see if they have Ine wire in stock.
