It now happened every time it rains. I have a 100mm high threshold and the waters now gone over that. There is a small bonus cause I'm building a new workshop at Easter to replace this one. Will start off with a 200mm concrete slab and French drains all the way round

I'd avoid old springs if I were you, they tend to have stress fractures that show up after you've done loads of hard work.

Every cloud has a silver lining, on my way home today the round about off the motorway slip road was closed so I was sent on a detour. Followed this for a while then decided to go the back roads as the traffic was light and came across a truck maintenance depot. Initially I drove past but then turned around and went in. Explained to one of guys what I was after and a few minutes later a complete 3 section leaf spring was loaded into my car. I now have enough leaf spring to make quite a few knives.
