If buyer wants to pay by PAYPAL for an eBay auction then it's part of the rules that you have to accept this method of payment. One of the advantages of using PAYPAL is the buyer protection - even if they collect in person.

Yes I forgot about that. You have to use paypal. You can't deselect it as a payment. Obviously you can still put in description cash only and if someone does paypal just keep refunding it.

I refuse to sell on eBay these days, and really only buy from power sellers with decent feedback.

Way too many idiots and scammers for my liking.

Sometimes companies selling on ebay have their own website, you can usually find that by Googling their company name. Goods can be cheaper off ebay because the seller doesn't have to pay ebay's fees.

It works both ways, messages, that is. I have emailed for more information from three sellers of cars, none of which are closer than three hours away. Clear questions regarding MOTs, advisories, servicing, condition of body, seats, accessories, anything that may not be working as it should etc.

No answers from any of them. Their adverts were not as full as they should have been, and putting more information in the advert means fewer questions from prospective purchasers. Seems obvious to me. I am the one waving notes around, but no-one seems to bothered about putting it in their own pockets.

Nothing changes, in the days of placing and responding to adverts in Loot you would always get the stupid phone calls. I remember a very difficult phone conversation regarding a MOT fail Escort which was very clearly described as such that I sold in the early 90's. Bloke said he wanted to buy the car for his wife, asked no end of questions colour, has it got a radio that sort of thing after about five minutes he says 'it says the floor and sills need welding, what is welding ?' told him this was not the car he is looking for and put the phone down. Sold her a couple of days later to some lads who turned up in a very smart Mexico.
