No, not sarcastic at all, I have almost no welding skills at all, I can just about glue bits together with stick..
As for Ali, I had a play around with the tig in work when my pal was doing a bit, I just made shiny porridge.
Few years back I made a kitchen for the back of my van, wanted it light as possible so used Ali angle and thin galv sheet all popriveted together.
It worked but looks a bugger.
Thinking of ripping it out and redesigning it.
This stuff would work a treat.

As I have mentioned before, I have used the "earlier" version of Durafix and lumiweld quite a few times., Both were great but they needed practice, And needed almost three hands!! Torch,durafix and a stainless steel "stiring rod" This later version with the flux core looks much easier to use, Definitely a good strong fix for non critical parts.

I'm ashamed to say that I didn't watch all of the vid, beyond verifying that it was about brazing.
Do you have a product name for the flux core version? I was using lumiweld at the weekend and love it, but it's not as easy as the youtube vids tend to suggest!

The man's a bull**it artist.
What I saw there was a load of failed joints and a guy who was deliberately hitting things along the strongest axis and sometimes stopping before they completely failed. I'm not against promoting a product that will allow people to make home-shop cosmetic repairs without proper welding plant but he shouldn't be clevely inserting the idea that perhaps it would be sutable for 'making frames' then producing a test piece that looks just like a typical engine mount lug stuck to a piece of ally space frame.

Agree with @Pete. 100%, with a name like DellBoy what do you expect other than Fools and Horses.
I do have Lumiweld in the garage and have used it occasionally, nothing wrong with the product but there is no way it would be used for frame building. Re building a missing lug on a Rover V8 water pump cover was is far as I have trusted it, the water pump was going to be replaced but I never got around to it, it lasted a good few years of weekend green laneing.

To be fair he does stress a number of times not to use it for frames or anything critical. Don't know how more honest he could be

Did he, Pete? At the end of the video he specifically said that there's no way that anyone should use it for that purpose, and that he certainly wouldn't since it wasn't strong enough.

I've watch quite a few of his videos, and IMHO calling him a 'bull**it artist' is pretty harsh. Although I don't always like his designs, they're interesting and he comes across as pretty genuine.

They are excellent rods...got me out of a few tight pinches in the past. Broke a tab off a water pump housing once...was able to make a new tab using a steel former. I was going to order a new part but the fix looked good and I just left it in place....still working!

Ah, well in fairness I didn't watch past him knocking the last weld about which could still be part of a problem. Adding warnings right at the end is all well and good supposing people watch them right to the very end. What I saw was a man saying "This is to see whether you could make a frame with this method". I skipped the Benny Hill antics at the start and stopped watching when he stopped bashing his work the wrong direction.

Durafix are definitely the ones I've been using so I can recommend those....also buy from a descent seller...I remember someone on here receiving tig rods!
