i'm confused, anyone help??

hello all

this morning i bought a small tig set from the bootsale, i got it quiet cheaply and it has a switch on the front to change from tig to mma,yet i bought what i was told was a tig inverter a few years ago but didn't have the torch, guage/ flowmeter etc, upon gettin out the cemont (the one that was supposed to be a tig inverter), i noticed it said simply MMA on the side and doesn't have the switch that the one that i've just bought has.
does this mean that the first one is just an inverter stick welder (is there such a thing?)

this mornings buy..

the other one, cemont blu-master...

so, is the blue one a tig set or just a stick set???

The blue one is just a inverter stick set. No setting to switch to Tig. Your new one will do stick and Tig.

Both will do TIG.

The new one has optimized slope for TIG. My Airco has a similar switch (big knife switch), it change sthe current slope slightly.

I bet the plain one will be harder on the tungsten on scratch start.

yea not all inverters have the switch ,doesnt mean they wont do scratch start tig tho

Dont worry being terminally confused is normal. Just stick your head in a bucket and things will only get better. I have yet to solve the world peace issue doing this but I try hard several times a day. If enough people did this I am sure it would work.

the bloke that i bought the cemont from didn't seem like the lying type and i'd always assumed that it would tig if i bought the gun/bagging and reg stuff

CHUNK- keep at it for world peace though it may be too big a task to achieve- world domination might be an easier option
