To be honest its starting to be like that now as they are using Ai to produce fake facebook posts and youtube videos.Opinions are all we have on this.
How long is a good while? Your statement “humans will be necessity in many areas for a good while yet” indicates that you also believe that humans will become unnecessary in time, how can you therefore think I’m being over dramatic? In itself that is a mind boggling thing to say!
We could well be the gate keepers into the end phase of the human race. Let’s try to close the gate before it’s too late!
It sickens me that people are lapping this up for their own personal convenience or because it’s trendy.
Think how much has changed in the last 50 or so years. Think how advances in tech have accelerated so rapidly in the last 5, 10, 20 years. Think about what the world may be like when your kids, grandkids, nephews, nieces or the annoying little gits next door are adults.
My only hope is that the internet becomes so infested with slop and insecure that it becomes unuseable, making all this tech redundant.
I’m buying books and learning to do things without electronics. It’s rewarding and may pay off one day you never know.
Get your self covered in a dozen red top rags , the Mirrors will reflect the death beams .Personally, I'm really looking forward to the after-party: the post-apocalyptic dystopia, set in a sun-scorched wasteland, where a desperate band of - ultimately triumphant, of course - humans are pursued through deserted subways by robot-soldiers carrying laser-guns. I've already started planning my outfit...
Not so sure in that , we still have striking trade unions“The Luddites didn't get very far in their quest...”
they didn’t have the internet!
An Independent Scotland might be a bit difficult to swallow ???Everything is edible at least once
But you are of a generation that does question and check.Im not so bothered by AI, we use it at work Copilot & Claude and you have to correct a lot of their output. even when asking them to create simple lists you get random stuff like 3 x No 1 bullet points, it is only "artificial" ultimately
My worry is that there is an ever growing number of the populace who don't think for themselves

Would you say a bit more, @ajlelectronics ?This morning, AI took my video of an original trim gauge
and eventually created this LCD version that I have cobbled together as a demo...
Would you say a bit more, @ajlelectronics ?
Is the intention subsequently to build the AI-conceived version?
That is very smart indeed. The intention is to build a sensibly priced, adaptable version. Secondhand originals can be £250+ and not even in perfect condition. My idea is to improve it and use them on my own installation; maybe offering them for sale if I get around to a finished version.
