Got a fair length of fencing to do and seriously debating one. Particularly after breaking one wrist and tearing tendons in my other earlier in the year repeated hammering still causes issues
Colour co-ordinated...whatever next. Also in yellow if that helps anyone
Wish I could weld wood......
theres a difference between nailing frames that are premade and built up on the job to actually building the frames up on the jobI'd be buying a pneumatic nail gun, when I was knocking out frames a compressor and gun was hard to beat, my DeWalt was for small jobs or support.
I bought a gun and comp for £80 on eBay, upgraded the gun soon after

id probably use the air nailer if i was building in a factory
for me it was the paslode a charge would last ages certainly all day long and when your dealing with no power source on the job a paslode was the better choice
i look after my tools and hate them treated poorly whilst used by others

these jobs was all done by a paslode in a day the last 2 was boarded and fitted with latts in a day
the customer bought ring nails in a bag as they didnt like the price of the paslode nails and yet the customer expects the job to be done really quickly as i can bang those nails in rather well ive also kinda got used to using the nail gun

ive seen the battery nail guns used by others but as i own the paslode ive never bought them and yes we have discussed often with others and whilst the paslode has its own issues so does the battery type nail guns as you kinda get that info from other workers in the trade
Oh @gaz1 I'd laugh if that wasn't SO bad.!! What's that saying - the labour is the most expensive part of any job ?the customer bought ring nails in a bag as they didnt like the price of the paslode nails and yet the customer expects the job to be done really quickly as i can bang those nails in rather well ive also kinda got used to using the nail gun
I never fail to be amazed - I'm just an "enthusiastic amateur" - but what you guys can do is just that - amazing.Good planning working alone, about 2days in this one.
Same for me.... detached biceps (monocep) swinging hammers isn't really an option. Not gas but ask and ye shall receive

They are just a flywheel that hits a bar to shoot the nail in. Usual fault is the anvil wearing and parts are available. Not had to open mine up tbh. If it spools up its probably a fairly easy fix. Some disassembly videos on YouTube iircDoes anyone have experience of the Dewalt Battery guns (DCN692n) please. I've seen one local - not firing - but it MIGHT be an easy fix .
The idea of battery only appeals as then the gas won't go out of date between my infrequent use, but if they aren't any good at all - that's a non-starter.
Silverline pneumatic looks good for the money - but I've been trying to find a source for spare seals/gaskets - and there doesn't appear to be one. (Silverline parts people Toolspares can't help). It'd be fine if it fails within the 3 year guarantee, but I'd like to be able to fix seals, which appear to be a reasonably common issue with airguns.
