Identify a sheet material?

I recently (yesterday!) bought some home-made "SIPs" from a farm auction. - they look to have been part of a chicken hut.

The outer boards are smooth, about 3mm thick. The colour and smoothness of MDF. stiffer than MDF. Hard. Washable. Almost a "stone" - breakable, but not brittle.
It is glued to a wooden sub frame.


It doesn't appear to be stockboard - I've only really seen stockboard once , but it was more flexible and not as hard - more "plasticky"

I will get a picture of the broken edge of one piece later today.

Does anyone know what it might be?

It doesn't seem to be wood-based (except the colour), unless it's something like woodfiber filled (epoxy) resin?

It's a much lighter brown than the paxolin I'm familiar with, but *very* similar

I've been bck over to pick up the rest of the panels, and had a better look at the lining sheets.

They are a very smooth cement sheet - probably asbestos fibers.
The "brown colour" is... erm... the products of the previous residents. <ahem>

Probably Jeyes fluid that has soaked in/stained it to be fair, rather than manure

"Phenolic".

It's basically the same as paxolin, but with a plywood inner.
